At St. David’s Rehabilitation programs, patients with amputation, hip-fracture surgery, joint replacement, arthritis, cancer surgery, or multiple orthopedic traumas benefit from a comprehensive continuum of care through the hospital’s integrated network of acute care facilities and a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Services are managed by board-certified specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and rheumatology.

Therapy will focus on regaining skills as well as learning ways to compensate for abilities that may have changed. Most individuals respond best to programs tailored to their backgrounds and interests. The most effective therapy programs involve family members who can best provide this information. Computer-assisted programs have been successful with some individuals.
